This quarantine has us binge-watching movies and seasons. After some time we finally have some seasons that are reflective of our culture and are familiar to us in many ways, ‘Ertugrul(Turkish Drama)’ is one example of that.
It has been much easier for the Pakistani audience to watch the show after the Urdu dubbed version aired on PTV, upon Prime Minister Imran Khan’s request.
Upon recommendation of the PM, Senator Faisal Khan has shared another show after Diriliş: Ertuğrul for the youth to watch.
Another Recommendation By PM Imran Khan
“After Dirilis: Ertugrul(Turkish drama) PM Imran Khan wants Yunus Emre يونس امره (Aşkin Yolculuğu) to be telecast in Pakistan. Yunus Emre (the Dervish) was an Islamic poet, a mystic & a poor villager. Story of a great Sufi wholly dedicated to ALLAH & searching for unity. Yet another hit created by Mehmet Bozdag is a Journey of Transformation,” the senator shared on Twitter.
“Yunus Emre was well versed in mystical philosophy, esp that of the 13th-century poet and mystic Jalaluddin Rumi. Serial is a great example of meticulous attention to detail work,” he added.
In a minute-and-a-half long clip, the PM commented, “We’ve always had content from Hollywood and Bollywood which was then being showcased here. A third end culture was being promoted. That’s why I want our youth to know the difference between our values and theirs.”
He went on to add, “We have a culture with romance and history as well, however, it is also filled with Islamic values. Sadly, the content from Bollywood is full of vulgarity, which wasn’t the case three or four decades ago.”
The premiere continued, “Drug culture, sex crimes are on a high. I want a different culture to be aired so our youth can know that there is a way of life apart from questionable shows that have been airing.”
