So lockdown has been challenging for all of us. We couldn’t set our routines initially. We were fearful and anxiety became a daily thing. Fearful mainly because of Covid-19. We were all living our normal lives and all of a sudden we are to stay at home, can’t go to parks and no more malls. The word social isolation became part of our lives. Then we started spending all our days on Netflix, games, and many other apps.
All this was draining our energy and its about time that parents ensure that they themselves and their children spend this time wisely. Because the way we spend our time defines who we are. So here are some interesting things you can do during these tough times keep your mind and body healthy and positive:
Our busy as bee routine seldom gave us a chance to grab a good book, sit on a cozy couch by the window with a cup of coffee and enjoy the book in hand. We all have plenty of time to do this now and its the best idea to fight social isolation.
Some tips for you all: Read good books, also work on your speed while reading books so you can cover more books in less time. More importantly, learn the art of reading a book. There is an Irish saying :
“Questioning is the door of knowledge”
This is a time when we can enhance our abilities. Critical thinking requires that you use your ability to reason. It is about an active learner rather than an inactive recipient of information. Critical thinkers strongly question ideas and assumptions and accept their value instead.
There are many websites that help you ask questions and get answers. Quora, the conversation, Reddit and many other sites encourage you to speak what bothers your mind.
“What is this life, if full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare”
W. H Davies
No matter what faith you believe in. These are tough times. We should try and connect with God. We should try our best to follow our religion and practice it as well. It is without a doubt that we will come out strong and positive by doing so.
Quarantine has affected our lives in many ways. One of the things we need to make sure is to keep your health checked. Simple exercises at home can be done without the need for a specialist. Don’t forget the saying, “A healthy mind breeds a healthy body.”
